Prototyping the 1st WM Product
As a graphic designer, I’ve always been drawn to creating beautiful, functional things. But my passion for design didn’t start on a screen—it began in my childhood, tinkering with scraps of wood in my family’s garage. Over the last decade, I’ve taken this early fascination and turned it into something deeply personal: designing and building nearly every piece of furniture in my home.
It’s been an arduous road. Trial and error were my constant companions as I learned about wood grain, joints, finishes, and the hundreds of ways things can go wrong. But through the mistakes and the victories, I’ve grown to a place where I feel my work has reached a level of craftsmanship that might be worth sharing.
I can’t wait to tell you more about this but for now, I’ll share a few images of the prototype for the first Wookmama® products; A set of minimal and cutting boards.
These boards are more than just functional tools—they’re a blend of my graphic design sensibility and a love for tactile craftsmanship. The concept revolves around the idea of a blurred line: sharp edges that gradually soften into smooth, inviting curves. It’s a design that lives at the intersection of form and function, bringing visual interest to a piece you’ll use daily.
The first batch of boards is expected to be available in early 2025.
