Creative direction and branding for restaurant Maison Foucault.
We were commissioned by Michelin Star chef Guillaume Foucault and sommelier Quy Phi to develop the branding and global creative direction for their upcoming restaurant-boutique hotel project. Located in the countryside a couple of hours from Paris, Le Perche is Guillaume’s childhood region. A beautiful and rich environment filled with a wide variety of delicious and unique products. We collaborated with Jonathan Baudet-Botella, bringing valuable context and support on the overall strategy. After discovering their gastronomic experience in their current restaurant Pertica and after visiting the site multiple times, it was clear that it was all about celebrating the nature of the region. Celebrating its products, with a visual communication as innovative as it is quiet, leaving room for the gastronomic experience to take over. We stayed away from computers for the majority of the process: Based on our photographs and documentations of the region, we studied color palettes by mixing painting, creating hundreds of samples to land on the final color scheme. We created a graphic language based on shapes we witnessed in the area: from the local fruits and stonework, to ancient peasant engineering. With a library of cut out shapes, we used a silkscreen process to create a graphic environment with character, emphasising on the printing defaults to highlight the manual process and therefore, highlighting authenticity. More to come in the near future… Maison Foucault 2021
